Unfortunately I missed the A* by a few marks so Birmingham it is. I’m not very upset that I missed Durham as Birmingham looks great and has a good course too. Just more frustrated with myself that I missed the grade - had a feeling it was going to happen after paper 3 which didn’t go so well. Excited to be going in September nevertheless!

Firstly I would like to say how friendly and kind Granville is and how he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed during the time he was tutoring me for, I looked forward to it each week. I saw improvements very quickly in my maths ability which gave me confidence and motivation. The sessions were a perfect mix of theory and practice and also challenged me in my thinking. I struggled with maths and his tutoring sessions gave me more confidence in my abilities each week. I would highly recommend Granville to anyone and I am very grateful for the help and support he gave.

As a senior medical practitioner, now in my 40's, I reflect back on my learning and formative years in secondary education. Mr Sykes (Graville seems far too familiar for a teacher I have such respect for) easily comes to mind and has left an indelible impression as a teacher and a human being. He has the patience of a saint as well as ability to convey key ideas and learnings which will last a lifetime. How do I know? Well, I have not only used these key mathematical concepts in my professional medical career, but also in my feeble but well-meaning attempts at D.I.Y! Almost 30 years on, I am able to both recall and share my learning when helping my teenage children with their maths homework! I cannot recommend Granville enough, and will happily engage his teaching for my children for their learning too!

Granville is an excellent maths tutor. He worked with my daughter, helping her to prepare for her GCSE maths. He helped our daughter to work through maths questions together, stepping in to help her and clearly explain things at the point she got stuck. This increased her confidence in what she could already do herself and taught her new methods to fill in gaps in her knowledge and understanding. His explanations were clear and very helpful. Her confidence in her mathematical ability and her enjoyment of the subject both increased. She went on to gain an excellent high grade in her GCSE thanks to Granville's excellent work!
